En medio de una nutrida asistencia y durante todo el día, se desarrolló el pasado sábado 7 de octubre el VI Foro Nacional de Jóvenes por Los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), llevado a cabo en los espacios de la Escuela de Sociología de la UCV.
Este encuentro, elaborado y planificado por la organización Váyalo, y apoyado por el Instituto Latinoamericano de Investigaciones Sociales (ILDIS) y la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Sociales (FACES-UCV), constituye un enorme esfuerzo por colocar en el debate juvenil los temas trascendentales de la contemporaneidad.
La actividad giró en torno a tres paneles interactivos, moderados por Luis Alvarado, Director de la Fundación Váyalo y Anais López, Coordinadora de Proyectos del ILDIS. El primero, “Una mirada al desarrollo desde lo Local y Comunitario”, se enfocó en las herramientas que deben tener los liderazgos jóvenes y emergentes para transformar la realidad desde abajo, conociendo las particularidades regionales y comunales, y no imponiendo matrices que a veces le son extrañas a las comunidades. Luego el segundo panel habló sobre agricultura sostenible y los retos que la misma enfrenta en un contexto de trasformación y calentamiento global, dejando marcada la relación inherente entre desarrollo y sostenibilidad, y haciendo un llamado responsable al cambio de patrones de consumo. Finalmente, se estuvo disertando sobre la transición energética; en esta sección varios consultores energéticos hablaron sobre el cambio de la matriz energética que vive el mundo y los consiguientes retos que esto traerá sobre Venezuela y su tradición rentista petrolera.
La participación de los jóvenes y demás asistentes fue activa, elaborando preguntas y haciendo llamados a mayor y mejor participación de este sector en la vida pública venezolana.
