Proponemos reflexionar sobre los principales problemas y desafíos que enfrenta Venezuela en materia de desarrollo, desde el enfoque de la transformación social-ecológica: la transición energética, cambio climático, biodiversidad y recuperación de ecosistemas, son algunos de los temas que se desarrollarán a lo largo de la serie que espera ser un aporte y una referencia para incidir en el debate público sobre cómo y hacia donde puede transformarse la matriz productiva del país, aprovechando sus potenciales de forma sostenible y justa.
La transformación social ecológica es una línea de trabajo promovida por la Fundación Friedrich Ebert a nivel global y en América Latina, con miras a identificar las transiciones necesarias y posibles hacia equilibrios más adecuados entre la sociedad y los ecosistemas.
En América Latina, muy especialmente, se promueve la investigación y la discusión pública para la incidencia política, de cómo y hacia dónde pueden transformarse de forma sostenible y justa las matrices productivas, especialmente en aquellos países con alta dependencia de la extracción de recursos minerales para el funcionamiento de sus economías.
En este primer episodio, Anais López, Coordinadora de Proyectos en FES-Venezuela y Francisco Javier Ruiz, Sociólogo e investigador narran de forma amena y cronológica los principales problemas ambientales y de desarrollo de Venezuela en el siglo XX y parte de este siglo, cuyo eje transversal invita a superar el modelo rentista petrolero y forjar horizontes que interroguen a la naturaleza con mayor empatía.
